I suffer with the same problem - just recently I bought ';Champneys Visibly Mattifying Shine Control Lotion'; from Sainsburys believe it or not. I have found this to help me quite a bit. I also use ';Redoxon All Day Defence tablets'; these can be found in Boots and provide vitamin C + zinc which is good for skin (spots) and helps your natural immune system.I'm not a teenager, but have oil skin %26amp; sometimes get spots. how do i prevent my skin frm producing excess oil
Cleansing is essential, as many have already pointed out. Also make sure you use a non-oily moisturiser.

I can only add to that: avoid foods that are well known for causing spots?
try not to over cleanse your skin, it would cause more oils being produced. there are some rice papers you could get at Mac's that you could absorb the extra oils during the day without ruining your makeup.
chenge your diet no fried food

Make sure you wash your face when you wake up in the morning, and before you go to bed. Use a facial cleanser for oily skin. Put a toner or astringent on before putting on make-up to get rid of any excess dirt and oil on your skin.
ave a wash
Healthy diet - I agree (try to avoid roasts and hot spices),

and never try any alcohol-based cosmetic products, because they strip your skin of everything and stimulate it to produce more oil.

Try washing your face in luke-warm herbal teas (e.g. oak bark has astringent properties, mint has cooling properties, camomile - a great antiseptic, etc. Ask any herbalist). Tea-tree is a great antiseptic in case of acne.

Any type of peeling is great too. The mildest one is made with fruit acids.

Just remember that any skin condition is a result of what's going on inside. The usual troublemakers are the digestive tract and hormonal system. I would want to check them out too.
go to a department store and ask for foundation that is non greasy and ask for other products, they know what they are talking about, and should help you understand what to look for in a moituriser and make up etc so you can find products to duit your skin type
you cannot prevent your skin from producing oil, that is a natural process and that is not the root cause of the problem.

the problem is that your skin pores are blocked by this oil and wha tyou need to do is :

1 - drink lots of fluids - skin suffers a lot when we do not drink enough water - 8 to 10 glasses a day should keep your skin fresh and hydrated

2 - wash your face with Neutrogena twice a day - and dont forget you must wash your face before going to bed - so that the pores are open and free of oil / dirt which cause the spots

3 - use an exfoliator scrub on your face once every week

if spots persists see your doctor

good luck :)
i have this problem too.

just try to keep clean all the time. i wash my face at work 3-4 times a day!
get an oil free moisturiser. nivea make one.
All the other answers here are right and also use Witch Hazel as an astringent after you wash your face. Neutrogena is one of the best skin cleansers out to use for oily skin. So by using the two together, you should be fine.
Wash twice a day with a gel cleaner. Use an appropriate moisterizer for oily skin.
twice a week do a claymask. best thing for greasy skin.
Teenagers aren't the only ones who have oily skin and spots. Adults do too.

You can't prevent your skin from producing excess oil, but you can control it by using skincare and cosmetics that are made for oily skin.
Try a healthy diet -- do not cheat !
